The Flintlock is by far our most versatile pack in the lineup. It is a 27-liter (1700 cu. in.) assault/day pack with a unique geometric design and an insane level of comfort. It is excellent for special operations, day hikes, hunting, fishing, and every day carry.
The main body of the pack is made with the most durable MIL-SPEC materials such as water-repellent 500D CORDURA® and waterproof YKK AquaGuard® zippers for superior protection from the elements. Reinforced material/stitching at all potential stress points, double-layered fabric at contact areas such as the bottom, and rock-solid meticulous construction make this pack ready for some serious use.
We are using a combination of ITW buckles and metal Super G-hooks on the compression straps for a slim profile and fail-proof reliability in the field, allowing for reversible orientation of the straps. All straps and hardware can be easily replaced without stitching.
The pack has a built in top lid with two zippered pockets, a large pocket on the bottom and smaller admin pocket on the top, covered with a double layer of 500D nylon for protection. Underneath the top lid is an interior zippered mesh pocket for additional storage.
Laser-cut PALS/MOLLE with vertical daisy chain webbing on the outside front panel and lengthy removable compression straps provide versatility in tying down gear and connecting our chest rigs to the pack. The exterior side pockets hold bottles, canteens, small cook sets, or tools and lay flat under the compression straps when not in use. PALS webbing underneath the pack is perfect for lashing sleep systems or other gear to the bottom panel.
The Flintlock has a full U-shaped clamshell opening with protective zipper gussets, laminated Velcro/500D PALS/MOLLE on both interior walls. We are using heavy-duty #10 YKK waterproof zipper chain for the main compartment.
Our luxurious padded/contoured shoulder straps are hands down the best on the market. We are using the most expensive, highest quality foam manufactured in the textiles industry wrapped with air/spacer mesh underneath a layer of softshell material. This combination gives the shoulder straps a soft, but firm feel and the ergonomics of the design prevent snags on neck/beard hairs.
An internal, removable frame sheet with dual aluminum stays behind the back panel is flexible, yet holds it's form for structure and allows serious weight carrying capabilities if necessary. Removable load lifters keep the top of the back closer to the body for proper load balance. A removable 1.5" waist belt provides stability and some weight distribution from the frame to the hips.
The Flintlock is not a cheap pack, but the design, attention to detail, and modular functionality is priceless. Backed by our limited lifetime warranty, this pack is constructed to withstand some serious use.
