The PiggyBack Pack is designed to attach to our chest rig-kit bag Universal H-Harness while capable of carrying 3L (100 oz.) water bladders up to 15" tall and 10" wide, comms equipment, body armor, or other gear. It can lay nearly flat at only 5-6" deep depending on the version, but has plenty of room for a bladder, armor plate, jacket, and other items.

The pack comes in two different sizes. 12L/Half Clamshell or 15L/Full Clamshell. The Full Clamshell version has plush loop Velcro interior lining for attaching hook-backed pouches and inserts. Both versions utilize a removable foam pad, have a front admin pocket, and attach to the Universal H-Harness the same way. The Half Clamshell version is more ideal as a plate carrier setup or a more minimalistic chest rig configuration due to the slightly slimmer construction/size.

Small but packed with modularity, the PiggyBack connects to plate carriers, rucksacks, or transforms into a standalone daypack by using our chest rig shoulder harness. By adding our accessory pouches and beavertail, you can carry quite a bit of extra gear if the need arises depending on your mission. It can be quickly connected and detached from any platform in the field with the PC Connect Kit sold separately.

It has laser-cut MOLLE on the back panel for attaching to plate carriers or adding our back pads if using the pack without armor. It integrates perfectly with our chest rig-kit bag shoulder harness so it can be worn as a complete one-piece rig or used as a standalone EDC/day pack.

With a new and improved H-harness attachment system, the harness truly becomes part of the pack and seems like it was hard-stitched in. There is virtually no movement or flimsy buckles/G-hooks to deal with. Simply slip the harness up into our PATENT PENDING Universal H-Harness Receiving Sleeve, and it becomes a backpack.

While pairing the PiggyBack with one of our chest rigs, the load is evenly distributed between the two bags, creating an unmatched comfort level rarely seen with chest rig setups.

There is a front zippered admin pocket that runs the full length of the bag with laser-cut PALS/MOLLE for attaching additional gear. Lashing loops all over the pack make it extremely versatile for running shock/bungee cord and attaching the PiggyBack to larger packs or plate carriers. Our larger packs all have removable compression straps that seamlessly integrate directly with the PiggyBack, or the straps can be purchased separately.

The internal sleeve contains a removable 1/4" thick stiff foam panel for structure and extra comfort. The bag is designed with a hydration/comms port at the top.

Versatility:

The PiggyBack can transform from a small 12-15L plate carrier pack to an assault/day pack by using our shoulder harness and other accessories. When using the Liberty Sustainment Pouches, the volume can reach 20L+.

Connect one of our chest rigs to the front, and you have either a perfectly balanced hiking setup, or a battle-ready loadout. Add our optional shoulder pads and back pads for even more comfort and ventilation.

Use the optional PC Connect Kit, and attach the bag to a plate carrier with the ability to wear the entire rig over your armor and swing the PiggyBack around to your front side when you need to access your gear without the help of a teammate.

Secure the PiggyBack to the front of any of our larger rucks by using our MOD Straps. Drop the ruck at basecamp and take the PiggyBack on short hikes using our compact shoulder harness.

We are using MIL-SPEC materials for the construction of this pack, such as water-repellent YKK® AquaGuard® zippers, DWR/TPU-coated 500D/1000D nylon, and durable laminates.

NOTE: This pack is sold in its base configuration allowing the end user to customize it to their specific needs. Shoulder harness, pads, straps, pouches, and other accessories are all sold separately.

"As a search and rescue operator, time is critical. This pack paired with the Recon Chest rig is a much needed and useful tool to have during a search. I plan to obtain all the accessories and create a well rounded kit load out for all my SAR callouts. "Purchased the recon chest pack with the piggyback pack and long shoulder sleeves. I’m a senior and frequently camp and do 6-10 mile day hikes and was drawn to the rave reviews online about the quality workmanship of FTT gear. I was not disappointed. This rig is well worth the price and is likely to outlive me. Every design aspect is well-planned and the look and feel is fantastic. I took the new gear out for a first spin this past weekend with about 12 pounds of weight, and it was super comfortable. Balancing the load between my chest and back was great for balance and the wide, padded shoulder straps were very comfortable. I used a 3-liter water bladder that fits perfectly in the dedicated sleeve in the piggyback pack. Highly recommend FTT and will add a bear spray holster when they come out with one."
