FullTang's FlexCore™ Cummerbund delivers extreme expandability, comfort, and rigidity with a 3" profile, a tactical thermoplastic core, and a sliding mechanism that fits inside of the outer sleeve. The FlexCore™ utilizes a simple but effective locking method that allows quick sizing adjustments in the field while swapping out base layers, adding equipment, or if you are putting on or losing weight. The FlexCore™ is a highly modular, scalable, and adaptable cummerbund system for plate carriers that is truly a one-size-fits-most platform.
Utilizing CURV® Tactical as the structural support of the cummerbund, the FlexCore™ becomes puncture resistant, flexible, and maintains strength in extremely low temperatures. It is a battle-proven hydrophobic thermoplastic composite material that serves as a durable lightweight stiffener for high quality tactical gear.
The outer layer is built with laser-cut laminate material with MOLLE attachment points. Behind the cummerbund, we included plush loop Velcro for attaching hook-backed pouches and inserts, which also serves as the locking system. Our FlexCore™ Pad Set can easily stick to the inside walls of the cummerbund to provide additional comfort.
The FlexCore™ core is a thermoplastic sheet with laser-cut openings that serve as the sizing adjustment points. When the core is inserted into the main sleeve, Velcro straps are used both in the front and rear of the core to wrap around through the openings and back to the Velcro backing of the cummerbund. This method locks the core securely within the sleeve at two points, rather than one, and prevents it from sliding out or from being jarred forward.
Quick-release FirstSpear Tubes® can be utilized with the modular hook and loop flaps that are included with the cummerbund system. Simply remove the hook and loop flaps from the front, and quickly connect the tubes within seconds by passing the straps through the slots.
The rear connection of the cummerbund to the plate carrier consists of hook and loop covering a thermoplastic core and strong elastic bands that allow the system to flex while bending, twisting, or sitting in a vehicle. This is paramount during tactical drills or mission-critical activities where stopping to adjust the tightness isn't an option.
For even more modularity, the FlexCore™ can be quickly removed from the plate carrier and transition into a range/battle belt using a Raptor/Cobra buckle and rear adapter panel (sold separately).
FlexCore™ Cummerbund was built with innovation and simplicity to bring you one of the most comfortable, low-profile, adaptable, and modular cummerbunds that you will ever find. It is a universal system that fits our Antithesis Plate Carrier flawlessly and will do the same with most carriers on the market.
