The FlexCore™ Shoulder Straps are a gamechanger for our Antithesis™ Plate Carrier system. Based on the same concept as our FlexCore™ Cummerbund, the shoulder straps lock into place using a thermoplastic ladder system that adjusts up or down with the ability to use Tubes® for a quick-release function on either side, or run slick for a low profile.  

Wrapped in laminated fabric on the top and plush loop Velcro/laminate underneath each strap for attaching shoulder pads, the thermoplastic ladder system allows the adjustment piece to slide in and out of the sleeve to accommodate different torso heights.

Using the same principles as a load-bearing rucksack harness, the thermoplastic core is flexible around the contour of the shoulders while properly distributing weight across the Acromion, eliminating the common hotspot that most carriers create due to improper load carriage applications.

The FlexCore™ system acts as an "exoskeleton" to transfer the load where it belongs, to the front and rear plate bags instead of on top of your shoulders. With a properly seated cummerbund, such as our FlexCore™ Cummerbund, the load is then transferred to the hips where it belongs. Thus, mimicking the same principles as a rucksack with a hip belt. The comfort level of this system working in conjunction with all components is unparalleled.

However, that's not all. The FlexCore™ system really shines because of its ability to flex with rapid body movement. In the top of the rear plate bag, seated in our patent-pending Universal H-harness Receiving Sleeve, the thermoplastic core extends into this pocket with a very strong elastic flex mechanism that allows the shoulder straps to slightly shift with movement. With a properly configured carrier using the FlexCore™ system, the weight is distributed properly and the elastic will not flex unless it is the result of physical force.
