The Hybrid Chest Rig is our answer to years of feedback from our customers to make a hybrid between our popular Modular Chest Rig and Low-Vis Kit Bag, keeping the same low profile with one main compartment, but with an additional zippered admin pocket on the front, an extended MOLLE panel, and a Velcro loop ID field. This layout provides you with all of the options needed to carry smaller essentials in the admin pocket up front and your "tool" against the rear wall for quick-draw capabilities without additional bulk.
All of our modular inserts are compatible with this rig which allows you to expand the real-estate by using our Side Expansion Wings, Kangaroo Pocket Pouch, Organizer Pocket Insert, and Trinket Pouches. Both interior walls are lined with plush loop Velcro for attaching hook-backed inserts, holsters, etc. and there are tie-off points inside the top rim on both sides for lanyard cords or the included removable paracord retention system to keep the bag from opening all the way.
The bag is made with the highest quality MIL-SPEC materials such as Squadron™ laminate, water-repellent zippers and DWR/TPU-coated 500D nylon for superior weather protection and durability.
The upgraded shoulder H-harness is made of durable laminate with side routing slots and holes to run shock cord/comms cables. Webbing loops on the back provide hardware connection points for load-bearing belt systems or attachment of carabiners, fly fishing nets, etc.
Optional lightly padded mesh/softshell comfort sleeves can be added to the shoulder harness for an extra layer of abrasion protection, cable routing options, ventilation, and low-vis appearance. Our Shoulder Pads can be added for extreme comfort while carrying heavier loadouts and with use of the PiggyBack Pack or WAR Pack attached to the rear of the harness.
Now you can choose your zipper type, either water repellent for additional protection from the elements or standard reverse coil for a traditionally smoother draw.
Why the name?
Besides the obvious combination of our two most popular chest rigs, we always like a unique backstory. The American Revolution is frequently analyzed as an early historical example of hybrid warfare or a compound war, combining traditional European-style military forces with irregular tactics.
This is the core element philosophy of our chest rigs/packs.

Dual Military Systems: The Americans relied on two different forces. George Washington maintained the Continental Army as a conventional "force in being" to fight pitched battles, protect territory, and legitimize the new nation. Simultaneously, local militias and partisan bands used irregular methods.
- Irregular and Guerrilla Tactics: Militiamen and volunteer fighters engaged in ambushes, sniping, intelligence gathering, and sabotage, particularly during the opening skirmishes (like Lexington and Concord) and key campaigns.
Our entire gear line is based on the concept of hybrid mentality, being able to utilize gear for various missions and activities while being 100% capable for any situation.
