The Hybrid Shoulder Straps are a gamechanger for our Antithesis™ Plate Carrier system. Based on the similar concept as our FlexCore™ Cummerbund, but instead of thermoplastic, the shoulder straps lock into place using MIL-SPEC webbing with a 1000 lb. breaking strength. Natural articulation occurs because the straps move freely and rest to the shape of each individual while the webbing core completely eliminates sag.
Hybrid Shoulder Straps can also be used as a super comfortable and adjustable chest rig harness by quickly disassembling the system from your plate bags and clipping the harness back into your placard/kit bag.
Using the same principles as our load-bearing rucksack harness, the webbing core maintains the contour of the shoulders while properly distributing weight. This eliminates the common sag issue that most carriers have due to improper load carriage applications.
The entire system acts as an "exoskeleton" in conjunction with our FlexCore™ Cummerbund, transferring the load to the waist where it belongs. Thus, mimicking the same principles as a rucksack with a hip belt. The comfort level of this system working together with all components is unparalleled.
In the top of the rear plate bag, seated in our patent-pending Universal H-Harness Receiving Sleeve, the webbing core extends into this pocket with natural articulation that allows the shoulder straps to slightly shift with movement. This also occurs in the front plate bag by simply using our proprietary metal hardware that clips into a webbing loop above the placard panel.
This system properly distributes the load to the center of the carrier, then transfers the remaining load around the waist with the cummerbund in place.
The shoulder straps are fully adjustable using hook and loop at the top with laser-cut laminate MOLLE slots for cable routing.
Our Body Pad Set or Comfort Sleeves can be used for additional padding and comfort.
