The Overmountain Day Pack is a 20 liter (+5) minimalist, yet rugged bushcraft-style rolltop day pack, constructed of water-repellent 1000D nylon fabric.

Replaceable/articulating shoulder straps, removable/waterproof foam back panel/sitting pad, metal hardware at critical attachment points, removable/free-floating top lid with 3 zippered pockets, and lashing points all over the pack make it extremely versatile.

This pack gets its name from the Overmountain Men who were American frontier militia from west of the Blue Ridge Mountains who lived in the trans-Appalachian frontier settlements across modern-day Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, and Kentucky.

Even though they were seen as a "ragtag" gathering of backcountry militia, farmers, and hunters who completely lacked formal military uniforms, strict drilling, and established supply lines, the harsh realities of frontier life effectively turned them into a de facto elite guerrilla unit.

They played a crucial turning-point role in the American Revolutionary War by defeating British forces at the Battle of Kings Mountain in 1780. Because their campaign required speed and surprise to catch British Major Patrick Ferguson, they abandoned traditional military supply lines and traveled with very minimal baggage.

By stripping away the heavy baggage trains, wagons, and tents typical of British and continental armies, they were able to pull off an incredible 330-mile march through rugged wilderness - including a final, grueling 30-hour continuous ride through a rainstorm to catch and surround the British forces.
