The Overmountain™ Ruck is the big brother to our Overmountain Day Pack with extreme versatility and modularity, coming in at 60+ liters total volume between all of the components.
This is the only four-piece ruck system that breaks down into a smaller 40 liter (32 liter main bag/8 liter side pockets) assault/patrol pack with a detachable 20-liter sleep carrier system underneath that can be used as a butt pack or cross-body sling/messenger bag. Of course, the roll tops are expandable and there is a top lid, so the volume can increase depending on how you are using it.
When the main patrol pack is removed from the SLIM Frame, the shoulder straps can be attached and the frame sheet removed from the main frame and inserted into the patrol pack. This allows a complete modular system where you can transition from rucksack to patrol pack mode as the mission requires.
The main patrol pack also includes a removable thick foam pad wrapped in waterproof material that can be used as a sitting/kneeling pad. An axe holder on the front and vertical daisy chain MOLLE provides space to hang GP pouches and route the vertical compression straps.
On the top of the pack rides a free-floating, removable top lid with two zippered pockets on top, and a mesh zippered pocket underneath. This provides ample space to store essentials that you need to grab quickly. The sides of the main pack have very large compressible pockets with top lids of their own, perfect for storing large bottles, cook sets, jackets, tripods, or anything else you can fit in them.
Underneath the main patrol pack sits our rolltop sleep carrier system that cinches to the bottom of the main pack and attaches to the frame with its own vertical compression straps. Bottle pockets on the sides are a great place to rest a rifle buttstock when used in ruck mode, or they can be used as independent water bottle/canteen pouches. When removed, it serves as a sling/messenger bag by using the d-rings on the sides with the included straps, and can be attached to the SLIM Frame's removable Modular Hip Belt and used as a butt pack.
If using the SLIM Frame, the bags can be removed and the frame can be utilized as its own load-carriage platform by using the laser-cut MOLLE on the front or our optional HOSS Load Panel for carrying awkward loads such as firewood, jerry cans, tires, chainsaws, munitions, etc.
The Overmountain™ Ruck platform is the perfect solution for infantrymen, hunters, campers, hikers, etc. who need a complete pack system that can carry all of their essentials to base camp, setup their tent/sleeping gear, then head out on patrol/day hikes with the main pack bag removed from the frame. It is the ultimate modular ruck system, with virtually four pack configurations in one package.
Built to outlive you, it is made with the most durable MIL-SPEC 1000D TPU/DWR coated fabric for excellent abrasion/tear resistance and water repellency. The absence of zippers from the main patrol pack and sleep carrier system make the ruck indestructible. Rolltop openings also provide unmatched protection from the elements compared to zippered packs/rucks.
